How reward tiers work
Reward tiers are what make a bundle worth building. Each tier rewards a customer for reaching a certain number of items, and the storefront shows how close they are to the next one.
What a tier contains
You can add up to 5 tiers per bundle. Each tier has:
- A name, for example “Starter” or “Best value”, up to 50 characters.
- The number of items required to unlock it.
- The reward, either a product discount or free shipping. See discount types.
- A message shown to the customer, for example “Save 15 percent on your box”.
How customers experience tiers
As a customer adds items, BigBox shows their progress toward the next tier, such as “Add 1 more for free shipping”. When the cart qualifies, the reward applies automatically at checkout.
Rules for tiers
- Each tier needs a different item count. You cannot have two tiers both set to “Buy 3”.
- Tier item counts should fit within the bundle’s minimum and maximum. See set minimum and maximum items.
Tip
Stack two or three tiers so there is always a next reward in sight, for example 10 percent at 3 items, 15 percent at 5, and free shipping at 7. The visible progress is what nudges customers to add one more.
