Building bundles

Restrict variants and hide out-of-stock items

You can fine-tune which versions of a product customers can add, and how the bundle handles items that are out of stock.

Restrict variants

When a bundle is built from specific products, you can limit which variants are allowed, for example only certain colors or sizes. Customers then pick from the variants you permit rather than the full range.

Variant selection at the storefront

Where a product has more than one variant, the customer chooses the variant before adding it, the same way they would on a normal product page.

Hide out-of-stock products

Turn on “hide out of stock products” to remove unavailable items from the bundle automatically. Customers only see what they can actually buy, which avoids the frustration of selecting something that is sold out.

How stock is judged

BigBox respects your Shopify inventory settings:

  • Products that are in stock are available to add.
  • Products you allow to be sold when out of stock, or that do not track inventory, stay available.
  • Quantity limits are enforced as a customer adds items, so they cannot add more than is available.

Tip

If a bundle looks emptier than expected, check whether “hide out of stock products” is on and whether the products or collections behind it actually have stock.
